March 04, Senior Minister (Security) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that those entering Sabah and Labuan for work or other matters with permission from the police will need to undergo a swab test three days before their journey, but do not need to be quarantined when they arrive.
Meanwhile, those entering Sarawak will have to undergo swab tests three days before departure and also be quarantined for 14 days after arrival.
"Only individuals who test negative and don't show symptoms will be allowed in and need not undergo quarantine.
"Those leaving Sabah for the peninsula need not undergo a swab test, but individuals who want to go into Sarawak and Labuan will need to undergo a swab test three days before their journey as well," he said.
"For Sarawakians, the cost of swab tests and quarantine will be borne by the state," he said, adding that others would have to bear the costs themselves.
