JPJ giving 70% discount on summonses from April 13 until June 11.

Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has announced that Motorists on the Road Transport Department’s (JPJ) will be offering 70% discount for 3.5 million outstanding summonses in celebration of their 75th anniversary.
He said the discount would be beneficial to those who earn a living as drivers but were unable to renew their driving license or road tax, for being blacklisted. He added motorists on the JPJ blacklist due to outstanding summonses will get a chance to wipe clean their record at a huge discount.
“For example, with the discount, a motorist will only have to pay RM45 to settle a RM150 summons, and allow the individual’s name to be taken off the blacklist, ” said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, Transport Minister
Dr Wee also said JPJ was introducing its JPJeQ system nationwide to allow members of the public to scan a QR code to obtain a queue number. This system would allow people to keep track of their current position in the queue and the expected waiting time at JPJ offices.
“In light of the new normal, the JPJeQ will help avoid the 3Cs (crowded places, confined spaces and close conversations) at JPJ offices, ” he said.
In conjunction with the anniversary, JPJ also launched a special vehicle registration plate for the Federal Territory of Putrajaya. Vehicle owners can bid for the plate “FD” via the online vehicle registration number bidding system (JPJeBid), beginning today.
Wee said the registration number bidding will be closed at 10pm on Friday and the results would be announced the next day.

In additional, police summons are also discounted during this time. The 50% discount is available on the MyBayar Saman app, although it is only available until 14 April 2021.
