Interstate tourist travel allowed between RMCO states with strict conditions

Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said that the government has announced that interstate travel will now be allowed between states under Recovery Movement Control Order to help the suffering tourism industry.
He adds that those who want to travel for domestic tourism only can be using tour Agency vehicle that registered under MOTEC (Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture) and they have to seek approval from PDRM before traveling. Private vehicles are still NOT allowed to travel interstate.
“Travel for tourism purposes using private vehicles is not allowed. This is because the police will have a difficult time monitoring movements compared to using transport provided by tour companies, ” he said Tuesday (March 9).
Travel for tourism purposes for those in conditional MCO areas is still not allowed and those in the recovery MCO states also cannot go on holiday in conditional MCO states. He said traveling from one recovery MCO destination to another via a conditional MCO state was allowed, the tour transport operators are not to stop in between destinations.
Those from Putrajaya wanting to go for a holiday in Melaka can do so by traveling through Negri Sembilan without making a stop.
